Welcome to the Earth Day Haiku and Photo Contest
Please
note that with your submission, you are granting the Government, including DOE’s Office of Sustainable
Environmental Stewardship, and persons acting on their behalf, permission to use, edit, publish, and display
your photo for Government purposes in any promotional notices, reports, posters, and Government websites. If
there are minors (under 18 years of age) or any other individuals in the photo, by making the submission you
grant, or warrant that you have obtained, permission for such individuals’ image and likeness to be used by the
Government as described above.
You also represent that, to the best of your knowledge, the photo is original to you, does not infringe upon any
copyright, proprietary right, or any other right whatsoever of any party, and that you have made no agreements
inconsistent with this permission. You further represent that, to the best of your knowledge, your photo
contains no matter that is scandalous, obscene, libelous, or otherwise contrary to law.
You further grant to DOE a perpetual, irrevocable, world-wide, royalty-free, non-exclusive License with the right to copy and
publish your haiku in any medium and with or without additional imagery or other haiku for non-commercial purposes. You also
represent that the haiku is your original work, does not infringe upon any copyright, proprietary right, or any other right
whatsoever of any party, and that you have made no agreements inconsistent with this permission.
Federal employees may participate in these contests, but most do so on their own time.
Contractor employees who wish to prepare submissions while on billable time should contact their employers,
who should coordinate with the contracting officer.
This is a Department of Energy (DOE) computer system. DOE computer systems are provided for
the processing of official U.S. Government information only. All data contained within
DOE computer systems is owned by the DOE, and may be audited, intercepted, recorded, read,
copied, or captured in any manner and disclosed in any manner, by authorized personnel.
THERE IS NO RIGHT OF PRIVACY IN THIS SYSTEM.
System personnel may disclose any potential evidence of crime found on DOE computer systems to appropriate authorities.
